– 영국 런던의 억스브리지에 위치한 국·공립대학교로, 1928년 설립된 Acton Technical College를 기반으로, 교명은 영국의 토목 기술자 겸 발명가인 Isambard Kingdom Brunel의 이름에서 비롯되었다. 런던 서쪽 외곽지역인 Uxbridge에 위치한 메인 캠퍼스를 기준으로 주변의 Osterley, Runnymede, Twickenham 캠퍼스에서 운영되고 있다.

- 1928년 설립된 Acton Technical College을 기반
- 1957년 Brunel College of Technology로 분리
- 1962년 Brunel College of Advanced Technology로 변경
- 1966년 대학 지위를 수여 받아 현재의 교명인 Brunel University로 변경
